Chief Director Kang Dong-woo's Hair Transplant Story
-
01
Dreaming of becoming a doctor
influenced by my parents
who emphasized a positive impact.Since childhood, my parents always told me to "be someone who can help society" and practiced a virtuous life themselves. Thanks to their teachings, I naturally realized the importance of good deeds and lived a life practicing them. Even during my school days, participating in various volunteer activities, I gradually realized how rewarding it is to offer even a little help to others.
Then, by chance, I watched the movie "Patch Adams." This movie tells the story of Hunter Adams, a real-life doctor. By wearing a clown costume and healing not only the patients' illnesses but also their hearts, he earned the nickname "Patch" and became a doctor who sees into patients' hearts, bringing them hope and laughter.
It was only after watching this movie that I truly understood.
Being a doctor is not just about treating diseases, but a special profession that can touch people's hearts. I resolved to become someone who, like Hunter Adams, exerts a positive influence on patients as a doctor and can heal both their bodies and minds. My parents' teachings and Hunter Adams' story deeply inspired me and became a great motivation in choosing the path of a doctor. -

A surgical procedure that changes patients' lives,
Hair TransplantationDuring my medical school years, I agonized over which specialty to choose. The possibilities offered by various medical fields actually made my choice more difficult.
Meanwhile, the transformation of a friend I studied with had a profound impact on my career decision. That friend suffered from genetic hair loss, and because I had always seen him stressed about it, his transformation resonated with me even more. After much contemplation, my friend finally underwent a hair transplant. After the surgery, he felt immense happiness and said he regretted not getting it done sooner. Above all, seeing my friend become confident and proud deeply moved me. My friend's transformation was exactly the kind of change I wanted to bring to my patients as a doctor.
After that, I became interested in hair transplantation. Since becoming a doctor, I started performing hair transplant procedures in 2018, and it has already been 7 years. Seeing many patients express their happiness, saying they have started living a "new life" after surgery, is incredibly touching and the most rewarding moment for me. Whenever I see my patients' newfound confidence, I am reminded of my role as a doctor.
The fact that I can bring positive changes to so many people through hair transplantation makes me even more passionate. -

A persistent personality
dedicated to a single pathIn the field of hair transplantation, there is no official "specialist" qualification.
Therefore, I felt the need to delve even deeper. Acquiring the necessary skills for hair transplantation and building know-how were entirely up to me.
Furthermore, because the field of hair transplantation is rapidly evolving, it is crucial to keep up with the latest technologies and trends through continuous learning and research. This is because hair transplantation also has its own trends.
To lead these trends, I actively participate in domestic and international conferences and workshops, constantly learning about new surgical techniques and equipment.
Additionally, I found great fulfillment in developing new techniques based on the knowledge gained from actual surgical experience, applying them to patients, and witnessing the results. This field was a perfect fit for my personality of dedicating myself to a single path, and thanks to this disposition, I was able to focus even more on hair transplantation. -

Hair transplantation,
an enjoyable process,
with satisfying resultsMany people suffering from hair loss worry about the cost of a hair transplant, the pain during the surgical process, the recovery progress, and the difficulties of aftercare.
To alleviate these concerns, I try to have as many conversations as possible with my patients throughout the entire process, starting from before the surgery.
I share stories about the positive changes other patients have experienced through hair transplantation, explain what to expect while the hair is growing, and discuss the dreams they want to achieve after the surgery, covering a variety of topics.
Through this process, patients receive emotional comfort, and I, too, feel immense pride and fulfillment that goes beyond my role as the operating surgeon. -

The art of hair transplantation lies entirely in manual skill.
Since I was young, I often heard that I was good with my hands, and I enjoyed various manual activities such as drawing and playing instruments. Among all things, I consider the surgical experience I have accumulated by implanting over 10 million hairs during my career as a hair transplant doctor to be my greatest asset.
Because there are so many different types of hair transplants, personally taking charge of each unique case and being part of the journey until the final result is an essential process as a hair transplant doctor.
Having manually implanted over 10 million hairs throughout my medical career, my hand skills have become as precise and skilled as a robot, and now they hold a meaning beyond mere technique. Hair transplantation is not simply a surgery to transplant hair; it requires attention to various details and an essential aesthetic sense.
Therefore, even on my days off, I enjoy various manual activities to maintain the delicate sensation in my hands, and I attend numerous medical conferences to study the latest surgical methods.
In particular, because I consider design to be highly important, I am always interested in and researching trendy hairstyles according to gender and age.
I believe that all these efforts greatly contribute to providing practical help and high satisfaction to patients considering a hair transplant, and through all these activities, I aim to help patients experience a better quality of life. -

We will be here for
the hair loss concerns
of the Daegu-Gyeongbuk residents.Seeing many people from the Daegu-Gyeongbuk region book accommodations and travel far to receive hair transplants, I decided to open the MOMO Clinic Daegu branch to provide hair transplant services on par with famous plastic surgery clinics in Gangnam, Seoul, right here in the local area.
Watching patients satisfied with their hair transplant results, I have always wished that those living in distant regions could undergo this surgery more comfortably.
Now, as the Chief Director of MOMO Clinic Daegu branch, I intend to utilize the experience and skills I have built over the years to provide services that will satisfy even more people. We plan to introduce the latest medical technologies and treatments, and provide customized treatment plans that carefully consider the individual circumstances and needs of our patients.
Furthermore, we aim to raise awareness about hair loss prevention and management, and ultimately establish ourselves as the leader in hair transplantation and hair loss treatment in the Daegu-Gyeongbuk region.
Hair transplantation is
a valuable result achieved only through utmost dedication.
Because I have also experienced hair loss and am currently undergoing treatment, I will do my best based on that experience to help many others suffering from hair loss enjoy a happier life, and I will strive to make a positive
impact.
Now, not only myself but all the staff at the clinic will grow together,
and we will dedicate ourselves to creating the best hair transplant clinic in Daegu.
Our goal goes beyond mere technique; it is to bring true happiness to our patients.
Moving forward, I will continue to challenge myself and advance in the field of hair transplantation.
